“Bachelorette” Premiers Tonight with Ashley Hebert and a San Diego Bachelor
Ashley Hebert, a 26-year-old dental student from Maine, returns to ABC as this season’s “Bachelorette,” premiering tonight.
Hebert said goodbye to Brad Womack last “Bachelor” as one of the final contestants and welcomes 25 new bachelors tonight, with Michael Burns, a 29-year-old technology salesman from San Diego, among them.
Only 18 hopefuls will be left after tonight’s elimination and rumor has it that Burns is not one of them.
On a recent “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Hebert agreed with Kimmel that teeth are an important factor of who she falls for and she promises Kimmel that she will “use the word ‘amazing’ eight to 40 times per show” and after some hesitation she also promises Kimmel “not to fall in love with a guy who wears a speedo.”

This season will include visits to Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Fiji Islands and Las Vegas, with the Thailand visit highlighting a group date where they renovate an orphanage together.
According to an interview with wetpaint.com, Ashley answered a few questions about the possibility of becoming the next “Bachelorette” and what she is looking for in her man:
“If you were considered for The Bachelorette, what do you think would set you apart from the other girls in the running?
Ashley: Gosh, that’s such a great question, I’m not sure. What I can say is, I do think that — maybe you guys won’t agree from watching the show — despite what I think most people think, I’m actually a really confident, secure person. I do think I have a lot to offer. I think that — that’s a really tough question. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I just think I’m a pretty fun girl to be around. I get along really well with people. I know I’ve learned so much from the show. I feel like the show really primed me to start dating again, so that’s something I’m really excited about. So if they do want me to do it, I think I would have a really good time and I think they would be happy with the end result.
You say you’re ready, so can you talk about what qualities you’re looking for in a husband?
Ashley: As I’ve gotten older, I feel like it’s changed. I used to want a hot ticket, somebody that’s really confident and successful. But now I can honestly say the only requirement I have is just a good person. I know that’s really cliche, but somebody that’s sweet and kind […] that shows great character, sacrifices something. I just want a good man to share my life with, that’s it. It wouldn’t hurt if he was easy on the eyes! And I need somebody that’s going to be able to kind of keep up with me, right? Those are my three requirements.”
Hopefully Hebert finds those three things in one man this season.
