Jersey Shore 2 is here

Get the hair gel and muscle tees ready, boys and girls, your favorite guidos and guidettes are back—that’s right, the second season of MTV’s infamous new reality T.V. show Jersey Shore is back for its second season starting July 29, and it looks like it’s going to be crazier than ever. The muscles are bigger, the arguments are louder, the dresses are tighter and the hair poofs are, well, poofier.

In an interview with MTV News, cast member Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino gushed, “You know what, this [new] season is crazy. It’s action-packed, it’s like a movie. It’s gonna be one of the best shows of the year, guaranteed.”

Along with the debut of the new season is the release of its soundtrack featuring big-name artists such as Fergie, Lil’ John, LMFAO, and Enrique Iglesias. Also featured on the album are singles from some of the show’s very own cast members, such as Pauly D—whose single is to be the first track on the new CD. Cast member Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi declared the song her “favorite”, saying “It’s his first track on an album, and I’m very proud of him.”

The new season of the show will be filmed in Miami instead of the familiar Seaside Heights that season one debuted in—it seems the show wore out its welcome in New Jersey. But which locale does the cast prefer? In an interview with MTV News, “Snooki” declared, “Miami definitely has a lot of good clubs, and so does Jersey. The only thing that’s good about Miami is they’re open till 6 in the morning. Jersey closes at 2 a.m., so that kind of sucks.” But when it comes to the hormones, it seems she prefers Seaside Heights, continuing, “Better hookups, definitely Jersey, because that’s where the guidos live!”

Season two of “Jersey Shore” premieres Thursday, July 29, at 7 p.m. PT on MTV. You can catch the soundtrack in stores on July 20th.
