Girl Boss is Cut After One Season
At first, we were excited about the Netflix show, ‘Girl Boss,’ inspired by Sophia Amoruso’s best-selling book. Considering the book amplified Amoruso’s resilience and leadership capabilities despite major obstacles, it seemed like the Netflix series had full potential of being both addictive and encouraging for women. However, after one episode, our minds changed abruptly. Not to our surprise, Netflix cancelled ‘Girl Boss’ even though there was only one season.
‘Girl Boss’ was actually executive produced by Amoruso, who announced the cancellation of the show on her Instagram story this past weekend. In her post, she said, “So that Netflix series about my life got canceled and while I’m proud of the work we did, I’m looking forward to controlling my narrative from here on out.” Clearly, Amoruso wasn’t too happy about the outcome of the show, but is looking forward to working independently.
The show, which starred Britt Robertson as Sophia Marlowe, debuted in April and has been receiving negative reviews from almost every critic. ‘Girl boss’ will be joining the two series of shows titled ‘The Get Down’ and ‘Sense8,’ which are both Netflix shows that were cancelled after one or a couple of seasons this past year. Netflix representatives announced to viewers of these shows that it was too difficult to fund shows with such small audiences.
Therefore, that’s that for ‘Girl Boss,’ but honestly, this outcome was inevitable. On the bright side, there are a lot of Netflix shows to look forward too coming in July. In fact, season 4 of ‘The Originals,’ as well as the first season of ‘Yes we Can!’ is coming to your home television and computer screens at the start of July. Additionally, the film ‘The Longest Yard’ is also coming to Netflix at the beginning of July. Hang tight, there is a lot of new series and movies to start binging very soon.
