Best Concluded Shows to Binge Watch
There is a treasure trove of fantastic TV shows out there just ready for you to enjoy. While it can be fun to lose yourself in a new show, there are few things worse than having to wait for the next season to be released. I mean what’s the whole point of binging if you don’t have all the episodes available at once? To get around this, check out these shows that have concluded, so no waiting!
Breaking Bad – Netflix
Widely regarded as one of the best television shows ever, Breaking Bad follows Walter White, a chemistry teacher who becomes involved in the meth business to provide for his family after being diagnosed with cancer. Each season, you slowly see Walter White’s slow descent into the intoxifying power he finds in his meth empire. Bryan Cranston delivers a performance that is unforgettable, along with co-star Aaron Paul, who showcases a surprising range of talent.
Downton Abbey – Amazon Prime Video
This award-winning historical drama displays the drama faced by 19th-century aristocrats and the troubles of their trusty servants. Downton Abbey paints a striking picture of the contrast between the upper and lower classes of the pre World War I era. Filled with struggle and joy, love and deception, after a season of this, I guarantee you’ll find yourself picking up on some of their “high society” mannerisms.
Hannibal – Amazon Prime Video
An underappreciated show in its right, Hannibal explores several storylines from the author of Red Dragon and Hannibal. Featuring the character of Hannibal Lecter, the show presents the psychotic cannibal psychiatrist before he is unmasked for his true colors. Hannibal is a dark ride through the mind of a serial killer and is both visually striking and deeply gruesome. Nonetheless, Hannibal was a show that ended too soon.
The Office – Netflix
Okay, this goes without saying, but The Office was way ahead of its time. If you haven’t seen this incredible mockumentary comedy series, I’m jealous. I wish I could go back in time and enjoy it for the first time, because The Office will have you laughing, crying, and everything in between. Featuring one of the best casts ever to grace television and a wholeheartedly satisfying ending, I couldn’t recommend this show more.
Weeds – Netflix
Little boxes, little boxes, little boxes full of ticky tacky. After watching the first episode, the intro song will be stuck in your head and you’ll be captivated by Mary-Louise Parker as the effervescent Nancy Botwin. A suburban mom, she is forced to turn toward selling marijuana to support her family. In this curious venture, she finds herself to be surprisingly good at it, and soon after develops an empire under her guidance. Weeds is definitely the dark comedy you need in your life.
Freaks and Geeks – Netflix
This show was tragically canceled after only one season, instantly slating it to become a cult classic. Freaks and Geeks features a cast of stars as they were just beginning their careers, including a young James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Jason Segel. An incredible ode to the pain and awkwardness of adolescence, this one is a no-brainer.
