Top 5 Most Exciting Players to Watch in the NBA
The NBA season is finally here and it couldn’t come soon enough. The Warriors, who have created quite possibly the most talented team in history, are going to make this season interesting to say the least. Fans are always intrigued to watch the Warriors dominate, but there are still 29 other teams that have extremely talented players.
Here are the Top 5 Players to watch for that are sure to get you excited this season:
1) Russell Westbrook
This man is a machine. Even after losing arguably one of the best players in the world, Kevin Durant, Russel Westbrook won’t be holding back this season. It is predicted that he is going to have the ball in his hands almost 100% of the time bringing it up the court, and he will most likely be carrying his team single-handedly. Whether he succeeds or not, we’ll see.
2) Giannis Antetokounmpo
“The Greek Freak” is only 21 years old but he has more talent than most players in the NBA. He’s a 6’ 11” point guard that can run the floor with open vision and can dribble through the traffic. He plays great defense and has high awareness on both ends of the court. The only thing keeping him from being the next Kevin Durant is his jump shot.
3) James Harden
He could be the best shooting guard in the NBA, but that would mean he would have to play defense, which he chooses not to. However, he does have a new coach, Mike D’Antoni who runs a fast pace offense and like to get off shots quickly. It’s a perfect situation for Harden but will get even better because he is now the starting point guard who will be in control of the ball at all times. Expect to see him take even more 3-pointers this year along with his underappreciated ability to set his teammates up for good shots.
4) Damian Lillard
His former teammate LaMarcus Aldridge left 2 years ago and with him went the expectations that Trailblazers would be able to compete in the Western Conference. Thanks to Lillard, the team made it back in the playoffs last year as a number 5 seed and beat a badly injured Clippers team. Lillard is going to do whatever he can to win games. He hits consistent jumpers, makes great acrobatic layups, dribbles through crowded lanes, and drains buzzer beaters. He’s everything Portland wants and needs.
5) Hassan Whiteside
He just signed his max contract and is ready to be the main guy on his team. A team that just lost their two of their best players, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. He’s an absolute rim protector who makes impressive blocks and shows off his attitude towards the game. He’s improved his offensive skill set and wants to be able to workthe low post. He’s out to prove he’s worth his contract and lead a team who is desperate for a go-to guy.
