Entertainer Quickie: Sly Stone’s Location, Molly Sims’s Storybook Wedding
During his former rock star years, Sly Stone threw away thousands of dollars on a variety of automobiles. The variety ranges from his purple painted Jaguar XKE to Hummers to a Studebaker.
Stone now owns only one camper van, and that van happens to also be his current home.
According to the New York Post, in one of his previous homes there were “parties where Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Miles Davis would drop by, where Etta James would break into “At Last” by the bar.”
Now, inside his van, Stone states that he enjoys living how he is. He stated that he likes his camper and that he doesn’t want to go back to having to live in one place. Today, Stone lives near a retired couple that, according to the Post, “makes sure he eats once a day, and Stone showers at their house.” Their son works for Stone as both his driver and assistant.
He has been currently working and recording his music through his laptop. He refused to let The NY Post enter van due to his paranoia of having the FBI and hired hit men after him.
How did his financial woes crash so fast? Stone believes that it started when he was refused his royalty checks around 2009. His royalty checks stopped coming after the singer placed fraud accusations against Jerry Goldstein, his manager. According to Fox News, “Stone says he was tricked into signing a rotten contract with Goldstein in 1989, giving the manager control of his finances in exchange for a weekly paycheck.” In 2010 he sued his manager for $50 million dollars for the fraud as well as “20 years of stolen royalty payments.”
He hopes to come back out in the limelight someday and perform his music. He told the Post, “I see all the guys playing those old songs. Let these guys know, like Lady Gaga, let me come in, just let me come in and pay me if you like it.”
Speaking of big changes, model/actress/designer/host Molly Sims, 38, has now become a wife to Producer Scott Stuber, 42.
The couple became engaged back in May, after dating for a year and a half. According to People Magazine, this past Saturday they finally “tied the knot” as they “exchanged vows in front of friends and family Saturday during an intimate ceremony in Napa Valley, Calif.”
Sims is known for her previous roles in films such as “Starsky & Hutch” (2004), “The Benchwarmers” (2006), “Yes Man” (2008), and “The Pink Panther 2” (2009), as well as her TV appearances in the series, “Las Vegas” (2003-2008). Stuber has been responsible for producing the following, “The Break-Up” (2006), “You, Me and Dupree (2006), “The Kingdom” (2007), “Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins” (2008), and “Role Models” (2008). His latest produced film, “The Umbrella Academy” is scheduled to come out next year.
Fellow “Break-Up” star, Vince Vaughn, was among the numerous celebrity guests. The guest list includes Vaughn’s wife, Kyla Weber, as well as Fergie and her husband, Sim’s former “Las Vegas” co-star, Josh Duhamel. The masterminds behind the wedding coordination and planning were the couple’s wedding planners, Yifat Oren and Stephanie Cove.
The wedding was a fantastic success. According to US Weekly, a source stated, “the ceremony was underneath a grove of trees beside a small lake. There were flowers in bowls hanging from the trees and it was an incredible setting. The wedding started at 6pm. Molly walked down the aisle with her dad across a huge lawn.” They said that everyone was having a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the weekend long celebration. It was truly a “fairytale” moment for the happy couple.
