Entertainer Quickie: Maria Menounos loses Super Bowl bikini bet; Chris Brown at the Grammys
We all have fond memories of the past weekend watching the Patriots battle it out against the Giants for the 2012 Super Bowl championship. Where most people place friendly bets, some of the bets involved money, some with buying a round of drinks, or taking people out to dinner.
However, there is one bet that was made that was very unique and chilly for a certain someone that appeared on the “Extra” show. According to Pop Watch, “Patriots fan Maria Menounos was so confident that her team would win that she promised to host her show in a bikini if New England lost.” Fortunately for all her guy fans, the Patriots lost that game and Menounos lost her bet.
The entire bet was made between Maria and her co-host A.J. Calloway during one of their broadcasts. If the Patriots lost to the Giants, she would have to wear a Giants bikini and if the Giants lost Calloway would have been sporting a Patriots cheerleader costume. She was so confident that her team would win that she admitted she ate constantly everyday until the Super Bowl game.
According to Fox News, “despite the chilly February temperatures in New York City, she kept her word and followed through on her hosting duties alongside co-host and Giants fan, A.J. Calloway, as well as a group of Giants fans.”
Guess she’ll be careful the next time she places a bet on her team.
Maria Menounos sporting a bikini in New York Time Square, on a freezing February day, is not the only surprising thing to hear about today. After three years, since the assault incident that sent him on a five-year probation, Chris Brown will be performing at the Grammy Awards this Sunday.
According to Seattle PI, as a result of the attack on Rihanna “Brown’s reputation plummeted, but he has since bounced back, releasing multiple mixtapes and the multi-hit album, “F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies).” Brown also hasn’t attended another Grammys since then.
Both singers are scheduled to perform at the Grammys this year, but separate times though. They are not the only ones who will be performing. The list of stars who will be showing off their voices include Alicia Keys, Bonnie Raitt, Tony Bennett, and Carrie Underwood.
His performance on stage at the Grammys will not be the only thing Brown will be looking forward to this year’s Grammy Awards. According to SF Gate, his hit single “Look at Me Now” with co-stars Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes is “nominated for best rap song and best rap performance at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, where Brown’s competition includes Jay-Z, Kanye West, Dr. Dre and Eminem.” Looks like he’s got some fierce competition ahead of him for Sunday.
