Entertainer Quickie: Lohan reports to duty at the Morgue; Martha Marcy May Marlene film release

Today Lindsay Lohan, star of Mean Girls and The Parent Trap, had to report to duty for her first day of morgue work. Not only did she arrive but she also arrived early.

Evidently she learned her lesson of timely arrival the day before. The morgue staff had turned her away after Lohan had arrived at the morgue late, and then they reported to her probation office of the incident.

This morning Lindsay drove to the morgue and arrived an hour and a half early. According to CBS News, “News helicopters hovered over the facilities, and cameras greeted her black sport utility vehicle when Lohan reported for duty.”

Lindsay has to complete 16 hours of service work at the morgue by November 2, the day of her court hearing. Her service hours will consist of the usual custodial work: “mopping floors, clean and stock bathrooms and wash dirty sheets.”

Hopefully, with Halloween around the corner, she won’t come across any spooky surprises. It is a place for the preparation of the dead after all.

The morgue doesn’t seem to bother her though, as it turns out her service at the morgue will be her second time. Back in 2007 she was arrested a couple of times for drunken driving and was forced to complete a service program there too.

Her hours at the morgue were not supposed to be her only community service requirement. According to Fox News, “Judge Stephanie Sautner contacted probation officials and told them to immediately yank Lindsay from her current community service assignment with the Red Cross.” The judge, at Lohan’s trial for stealing a $2,500 necklace, had assigned the starlet 120 hours at the morgue, and 360 hours at a women’s community center.

However, the Probation Department had switched Lindsay from her assigned duty at the Downtown Women’s Center and placed her at the Red Cross for service after, according to Fox News, Lindsay complained the Center was “Not fulfilling.” Although, according to CBS, she was actually fired from the center, which resulted in the judge having to take action.

CBS stated that the “Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner revoked Lohan’s probation during a contentious court hearing on Wednesday after the judge learned the “Mean Girls” star had been fired from doing community service at a women’s shelter.” Apparently the judge wasn’t too happy upon hearing that Lindsay was not doing the probation service the judge had ordered her to.

For now she will be finishing the rest of her community service at the morgue. With only the dead to keep her company. Creepy.

Speaking of creepy, a new thriller is released in select theaters today. “Martha Marcy May Marlene” tells the story of a young woman, Martha (Elizabeth Olsen), who flees from her dark and troubled past. She calls Lucy, her older sister, to pick her up. Lucy, surprised due to the fact that she hasn’t seen her younger sister in two years, invites Martha to live with her at Lucy’s summer home.

However, at the seemingly peaceful home Martha starts displaying disturbing behaviors. According to the Miami Herald, “Almost immediately upon arriving, Martha begins to display worrisome behavior – stripping naked in front of the couple to go for a swim, walking in on them while they’re having sex and crawling into their bed as if they were watching TV, asking her sister grandly inappropriate questions and making flat-out rude observations about the couple’s lifestyle.” Lucy (Sarah Paulson) and her husband, Ted (Hugh Dancy), become worried and unsettled at what Martha has become and worry about what happened in her past to change her so.

As it turns out her reactions are a result from her past experiences at the Catskills farm with the disturbed and captivating cult leader Patrick (John Hawkes). According to USA Today, Patrick “is superbly menacing, renaming new members to obliterate their former existences…female members of the cult become so brainwashed that they regard being systematically raped as a treat.” The man molds Martha’s vulnerable mind, renaming her as Marcy May. Her mind starts yielding under the cult and its leaders pressure as they teach about temptation of fear and that “Death is pure love.”

The couple tries to love and understand her, but have trouble reaching her on a mental level. They are almost at a loss of what to do, especially when Martha starts fearing that the cult will find her. Is there real reason behind her terror, or just a high level of paranoia? Watch and see.
