Jersey Shore Season 2 Premieres on MTV – Get Your Hair Poofs and Self-Tanner Ready

That’s right! Snooki and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast are back for another season full of parties and hot tub hook-ups.

In the first season of Jersey Shore, we were introduced to the now infamous group of guidos and guidettes as they wreaked havoc in the town of Seaside Heights, New Jersey. From Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi getting sucker punched by at guy at the bar to Jenni “JWoww” Farley cheating on her boyfriend with castmate Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio, MTV’s group of Italian-Americans can sure get crazy.

The second season promises even more hook-ups and controversy than the first as Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino and the crew are transplanted amongst the hot bodies and beautiful beaches of Miami Beach, Florida. More action than the first season? That may seem hard to believe, but seeing as they will be surrounded by people that consistently cause their city to top the “Most Attractive” charts, the notion is hardly far-fetched.

The Jersey Shore cast blasted into American media spotlight with their outrageous antics and personalities as well as their style. From the male cast members’ popularization of the term “G.T.L.” in reference to their regular activities being the gym, tanning, and laundry to  the once ever-present signature hair poof worn by pint-sized cast member Snooki, Jersey Shore’s mark on American culture is evident.

Their presence even extends beyond the boundaries of the entertainment industry. Just last week the reality TV stars had the privilege of ringing the opening bell for the New York Stock Exchange.

Tired of the fist-pumping madness? Don’t hold your breath. These Italian-American reality TV icons will be around for a while. The Jersey crew currently earns $10,000 per episode, double what they got for the first season, and are supposedly asking for $30,000, to return after this season. Sound absurd? Well, apparently not to MTV. The entire cast, including Angelina “Jolie” Pivarnick who left after just a few episodes in Season 1, has signed on with the network to return for a third season which will bring them back to their beloved New Jersey with hefty salaries.

MTV’s Jersey Shore Season 2 premieres tonight July 29th, 2010 at 10pm. Check out the trailer below:
