James Franco Writes Book About Lana Del Rey
James Franco has never been shy about how much he adores his good friend Lana Del Ray, but he has now taken it to the next level by co-writing a book about about her with David Shields. It all started when Franco interviewed Lana for piece he was writing in V Magazine where he spoke about her “haunting voice.”

The book, entitled “Flip-Side: Real and Imaginary Conversations With Lana Del Rey” is a 100-page novel and is set to be released on March 15th, 2016 by Penguin Random House.
In Franco’s article about Lana for V Magazine he mentions that he asked her for an interview for the book and her response was, “Just write around me, it’s better if it’s not my own words. It’s almost better if you don’t get me exactly, but try.’”
Franco wrote in the tribute section of the book:
“She is a musician who is a poet and a video artist. She grew up on the East Coast but she is an artist of the West Coast. When I watch her stuff, when I listen to her stuff, I am reminded of everything I love about Los Angeles. I am sucked into a long gallery of Los Angeles cult figurines, and cult people, up all night like vampires and bikers. The only difference between Lana and me is her haunting voice. That carries everything. The voice is the central axle around which the spokes of everything else extend.” This picture of Franco and Lana that was posted on his Instragam speaks to great depths of how he adores her, and he surely isn’t lacking any complements towards her either.

Franco really emphasis Lana’s “haunting voice”, but its not hard to see why as hauting is a very great way to describe Lana’s voice. When listening to to such songs as “Summertime Sadness,” “Video Games” and “Young and Beautiful” is hard not to imagine yourself inside some kind of vintage, creaky haunted house on top of a hill, while still being memorized and taken away by her voice.
On March 15th, 2016 audiences can read into his adoration for her in “Flip-Side: Real and Imaginary Conversations With Lana Del Rey.”
