‘Glee’ gets a new cast member
With season three of ABC’s hit show “Glee” beginning filming, fans have been wondering who will walk the halls of McKinley High School now that Chord Overstreet, who played the character Sam Evans, has officially announced he will not be returning as a regular character.
But Wednesday, LaMarcus Tinker of the show “Friday Night Lights” began his first day of shooting with the cast, and it has been confirmed he will be joining the show as Mercedes’ love interest.
Sources say his character is called “Bubba,” and he will inspire Mercedes to better herself. There has been no word yet as to whether or not he will join the glee club at McKinley.
Rebecca Black withdraws from school because of bullying
The 14-year-old YouTube star, most known for her single “Friday,” has chosen to withdraw from her Anaheim Hills high school and will instead be homeschooled. The teen cited bullying as the reason for leaving.
“When I walk by they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice,” Black told ABC News. “Or, you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?’ ”
Black’s mom, Georgina Marquez, approves of her decision, explaining that she doesn’t think her daughter needs pressure like that from her peers. Marquez also said homeschool with allow Black to focus more on her career.
George Lopez’ show canceled, praises Sandra Bullock
TBS recently announced it would be canceling George Lopez’ show “Lopez Tonight,” issuing the following statement:
“TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of ‘Lopez Tonight.’ Thursday will be the final episode of the show. We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer. TBS has valued its partnership with George and appreciates all of his work on behalf of the network, both on and off the air.”
Still, Lopez made sure to give credit where he thought it was due, citing actress Sandra Bullock as his “faerie godmother.”
“If it wasn’t for her involvement in me, or her belief in me, I would have had a very different last 10 years,” Lopez, 50, told People magazine on Wednesday. “She invested in me, and she wouldn’t take no for an answer. And with that, and just who she is, she has my undying love, and my undying loyalty,” he said. “Every day I thank her for believing in me.”
Jennifer Love Hewitt reprises Lifetime role
Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt will be starring in the new Lifetime hour-long series “The Client List” sometime next year.
The show is based off of the 2010 original movie of the same title, which also starred Hewitt, and has been picked up for 10 episodes. The network also has a deal with Hewitt’s production company Fedora Films that includes a directing gig for Hewitt on a future Lifetime movie.
“The Client List” will star Hewitt as a Texas housewife who runs a brother in order to make ends meet after her husband leaves her. Her previous show “Ghost Whisperer” was canceled last year.
