Entertainer Quickie: Zara Phillips to Wed, Paula Deen Robbed, Shania Twain Engaged, Vince Vaughn’s Baby Girl and more!
Following the slew of royal weddings lately, from England’s Kate Middleton and Prince William, to Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Wesling, is yet another one, from England no less. Zara Phillips, Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest granddaughter is engaged to rugby player Mike Tindall. No date has been set.
Paula Deen’s housekeeper, Mary Alice White of Savannah, Georgia is being sent to jail. White was stealing jewelry from Deen, resulting in 18 months in prison, followed by probation after pleading guilty. Deen and husband, Michael Groover were disappointed in White, having trusted and cared about her. The couple reported about $100,000 worth of jewelry missing between last August 2009 and May 2010.
Bret Michaels, of VH1’s Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It, has finally asked his girlfriend of 16 years, Kristi Gibson to marry him. The two have been on and off for most of those 16 years, but Gibson has said yes with the first to know being their daughters, Raine and Jorja.
Prime country star, Shania Twain, championed her painful split from Robert “Mutt” Lange in 2008 to be engaged to Swiss executive Frédéric Thiébaud. Lange was reported to have an affair with Thiébaud’s ex-wife, Marie-Anne. Thiébaud and Twain grew close in the aftermath and have created their own happiness together, culminating in Thiébaud’s proposal complete with a three-carat solitaire diamond ring.
Vince Vaughn and wife Kyla Weber had their first child on the 18th of December. The 40 year old actor’s baby, Locklyn, arrived at 7 pounds and 20 inches. Weber, a real estate agent, and Vaughn have been married since January, outside of Vaughn’s hometown, Chicago.
Amber Portwood, 20 year old star of Teen Mom, has a new life-size tattoo of her daughter Leah on her waist. Unfortunately the tattoo does not look too much like Leah, but it seems a gesture of love for her first child. Portwood is currently trying to gain custody of the toddler, who lives with Portwood’s former fiance, Gary Shirley.
New Kids on the Block and ’90s boy band, the Backstreet Boys, are bringin’ it to Dick Clark’s annual New Year’s Eve TV special, New Year’s Rockin Eve. They’ll be mashing up to perform, along with Ke$ha and Jennifer Hudson. The show is hosted with Ryan Seacrest beginning at 9 p.m. on Dec. 31.
