Charlie Sheen’s ‘Anger Management’
Charlie Sheen will be beginning a new sitcom project with the movie producer Joe Roth of Adam Sandler’s 2003 film Anger Management. According to EW.com, the show currently does not have a network committed to the project but is close to finalizing a deal with Lionsgate. Sheen will be playing Jack Nicholson’s role as an unconventional therapist. The TV adaptation will feature Sheen as the therapist but his character will have a different background story.
Sheen’s character is said to be a former athlete who gets his master’s degree in social work during offseason. From there, Sheen’s character becomes a therapist to defendants in the justice system who cannot mange their anger.
Joe Roth who owns the rights to the screenplay of ‘Anger Management’ will serve as a producer along with Sheen. Although the show has yet to confirm a network, Sheen has been talking to TBS and HBO.
This is Charlie Sheen’s first time back on television since he was fired from CBS’s ‘Two and a Half Men’ in March where he became the highest paid actor on television earning $1.8 million an episode. Sheen’s Roast will air on Comedy Central September 19, the same night ‘Two and a Half Men’ will air with Sheen’s replacement Ashton Kutcher.
