Brad Pitt: ‘Jennifer Aniston isn’t dull, but I was’

Divorce so often leaves a bitter trail of unpleasantries: broken promises, scorned exes, hurt feelings.  Not his intention, insists Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt, who left wife Jennifer Aniston in 2005, shortly after filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

In a recent interview with Parade magazine, Pitt, 47, confessed that he had trouble “trying to pretend” his marriage to Aniston was “something it wasn’t” -namely, satisfying.  He seems to contrast his unhappy marriage with his current relationship with Angelina Jolie, a relationship in which he claims he is finally a “satisfied man.”

But Pitt seems to be feeling a bit guilty about how his comments about his marriage and his ex came across.

“It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains myfriend,” Pitt said.  “It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself – and that, I am responsible for.”

Ah, the classic “It’s not you, it’s me” defense.  We’ve all been there, if not on the giving end then the receiving-you don’t want to believe it because you know it is a cliche (and a cop-out), but you want to believe it because, well, you just want to believe it.

Let’s just hope that the former Friends star, 41, takes it well.  She was spotted in Manhattan with boyfriend Justin Theroux last night.

Rihanna announces Fall release for new album

Barbados princess and pop star Rihanna has started tweeting details about her much-anticipated sixth studio album.  In response to one fan’s tweeted question about when the next album is due, she responded, “THIS FALL!!!!”

The 23-year-old singer also hinted via Twitter that the untitled project would include a lot of the dubstep influences heard on her 2009 release, Rated R. “You KNOW how I been lovin Dubstep since Rated R,” she tweeted.

Rihanna is known for her catchy hooks and unique voice on singles like “Umbrella”, “Take a Bow”, and “Don’t Stop the Music.”  Rihanna’s current single, Cheers (Drink to That) is currently tenth on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart.

“From what I understand, she’s closing the album up now, and we did two records for her that she really, really loved, and I’m really excited about them as well,” Producer Verse Simmonds said in an interview with MTV News’ Mixtape Daily. “They are records that we wrote and produced as the Jugganauts (Verse Simmonds and Sak Pase).”

Rihanna is among the best selling recording artists of all time, having already sold over 20 million albums and 60 million singles.  Earlier this year, she was awarded the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Female Solo Artist.
