Beyonce’s Birthday Tribute
Yesterday, Queen B turned 36 and some of her closest friends and family decided to get into formation as a tribute to honor her. In fact, even former first lady Michelle Obama joined in on the tribute to celebrate Beyonce’s birth.
In addition to Michelle Obama, other celebrity close friends and family of Beyonce included tennis star Serena Williams and fellow Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland. Also, her elder daughter Blue Ivy was displayed on the photo spread, which can be viewed on the front page of her website.
All of the celebrity friends and family members of Beyonce are wearing an identical outfit that imitates her look in the 2016 music video called, “Formation.” They are each wearing black hats that hang over their eyes, matching chunky silver necklaces, and variations of black long sleeve tops. All of the women are wearing braids in their hair and are in a black and white filter.
Though all of the portraits are clearly impeccable and classy, the photo of the former first lady has sparked the most attention in this point in time. Beyonce and Michelle have demonstrated their great friendship over the years and have consistently spoke highly of each another. Back in 2011, the two collaborated for a “Let’s Move Campaign,” to prevent child obesity. Furthermore, Beyonce sang for the president and first lady at the 2009 Inauguration ball. She also sang the national anthem at Barack Obama’s 2013 inauguration.
When Michelle Obama guest starred on “Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Michelle talked about her relationship with Beyonce and even said they were like-minded.
“She’s smart, she’s creative, she’s a great mother, she loves her family. She’s just a low-key lady. We have a lot in common in that way,” Michelle said. “Except I can’t sing, I can’t dance.”
Considering Beyonce is a Houston native, the damage done due to Hurricane Harvey hit home for her. Thus, she also posted a link at the top of the page encouraging people to donate to the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts underneath the birthday message. She wrote, “Join us in supporting the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts #BEYGOODHOUSTON.”
