Weekly Movie Update

Hey everyone. It’s time for our movie line up for this weekend. School will be starting soon, and summer is near its end. A perfect way to end the season is to watch awesome movies with your friends or even by yourself. Here is a list we compiled for you to choose from:

The Expendables 3

You’ve seen the first one and laughed. You’ve seen the second one and was awed by the amazing appearances of Chuck Norris, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger with our usual cast of Expendables. Now, the crew is back again on screen.

The Expendables find themselves at war against their former ally and co-founder of the team, Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson).  A man Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) thought he had killed when Conrad turned into an arms dealer years ago.

Now Conrad wants revenge against the team and will stop at nothing in his quest for it. To defeat the former Expendable, the team look to new recruits with their tech savvy skills. In addition to the original team members, we will see new faces that include Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones and Star Wars), Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Wesley Snipes (Blade), and more.

If you’re craving action and comedy then this is definitely a film worth seeing.

Let’s Be Cops

Two friends, Ryan (Jake Johnson) and Justin (Damon Wayans, Jr.), decide to dress as cops at a party. At the party they become a hit and the neighborhood goes crazy.

However the duo are mistakenly marked as real cops. They are forced to continue the charade when they face different police situations.

In a hilarious series of events the friends find themselves dealing with mobsters and dirty detectives among other things.

The Giver

Based on Lois Lowry’s novel, The Giver, focuses on the life of a young man, Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) living in a futuristic society where people entrust their memories of the past to the Giver (Jeff Bridges).

The society values complacency and peace over above everything else and will stop at nothing to maintain the status-quo. However, the society’s dark and horrific past is revealed to Jonas through his interactions with the Giver.

Jonas will soon be forced into a decision that can change his life forever.

Will he escape where others have failed or will he be smothered by his own society?

Into the Storm

Have you ever known the fierce intensity of a tornado heading your way? Imagine facing a series of them. In the film, a chain of tornadoes attack the town of Silverton, leaving destruction and chaos in their wake.

Despite the fearsome odds, a group of storm chasers decide to face the tornadoes and record them in their quest for data and knowledge of the super storm.

Starring Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead), Matt Walsh (Reno 911!), and Richard Armitage (The Hobbit), the film brings in an amazing cast of characters.

Will they survive? Or will this storm be the end for them? This action-packed thriller will make you cringe at the word tornado.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

They’re teenage ninjas, what can be bizarre about that? Except that they also happen to be green giant turtles and were raised by a giant rat named Splinter. TMNT fans will be excited to watch this latest franchise reboot.

New York City has fallen under the dark influence of Shredder. His ninja Foot Clan minions plague the streets as citizens find their lives in peril.

The city’s hopes lie with the turtle mutant fighters: Raphael (Alan Ritchson), Leonardo (Johnny Knoxville), Donatello (Jeremy Howard), and Michelangelo (Noel Fisher). However, the heroes find themselves in need of aid in the forms of reporter April (Megan Fox) and her camera man Vern (Will Arnett).

Will the group defeat the evil Shredder? Watch and find out.
