Tom Cruise Confirms a Top Gun Sequel

If you are a fan of the 1986 military action film, Top Gun, you’re in luck because a sequel is brewing. We’ve been anxiously waiting for this confirmation considering Bruckheimer tweeted: “Just got back from a weekend in New Orleans to see my old friend @TomCruise and discuss a little Top Gun 2” all the way in January 2016, but haven’t heard much from Tom Cruise since.

During Australian morning TV show sunrise, Tom Cruise confirmed, “I’m going to start filming it probably in the next year. It’s happening.” Be prepared for a film full of action and humor, with the highly praised and successful star, Tom Cruise.

As a film that truly skyrocketed Cruise’s career long ago, Top Gun is a credible film and must-see if you haven’t already. The film even afforded to over 350 million dollars globally at the box office. Cruise played the conceded pilot, Maverick, who was a very talented military elite fighter pilot. Some of the other actors in the film were Tim Robbins, Kelly McGillis, and Tom Skerrit.

Considering this is all we know about the film, thus far, there is a lot of room for speculation for the future of this film. First and foremost, all of the actors who played these handsome and beautiful actors and actresses are much older now. Though we are not certain how they are going to pull this off, we can assume that the film will take place 30-years later from the original. Even though Cruise is still handsome and essentially ageless, we can also assume that this won’t be a plot similar to the first.
