The Fate of the Furious Breaks Records
The eighth film in the action/thriller ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise came out on April 14, 2017 and this past weekend and became the strongest worldwide debut. Taking 532.5m in the box office globally, Universal Picture’s ‘Fate of the Furious’ beat all of Disney’s records on Sunday.
In this action packed crime film, a mysterious women provokes Dom into a world manifested by terrorism and betrayal. The crew faces subsequent trials and tribulations that test their limits and even break them apart. Comedic relief, clever drama, and thrilling scenes made this film a must-see and I would recommend it to anyone ages 13 and up. IMDb rated ‘Fate of the Furious’ as a 7.4/10 in review.
‘Fate of the Furious’ brings back the most hilarious characters and fan favorites. It stars Vin Diesel who plays Dom, Dwayne Johnson who plays Hobbs, and Jason Statham who plays Deckard. Additionally, the comical and talented Ludacris returns as Tej Parker. The film was directed by Gary Gray and is proudly the highest-grossing opening for an African American director in the history, according to Universal Pictures.
Fate of the Furious is marked by success based on this weekend’s turnout in the box office. In fact, Universal Pictures already announced that there will be a 9th and 10th installment in 2019 and 2021, so the success is not over yet.
Eight films later, two more to go, and fans are still on the edge of their seats in anticipation for these thrillers to come out. Clearly, the eight film franchise is doing something right.
