New Trailer Surfaces for ’20th Century Women’s Recount of the 70’s
A new trailer has emerged for a movie slated to hit theaters in December 25 entitled, 2oth Century Women, which harkens to a time of rebellion and social upheaval. The film stars Annette Bening who plays the role of Dorothea Fields—a single mother who’s tasked with the upbringing of two adolescent kids in the late 1970s.
The film is directed by Mike Mills, who has been nominated for 11 awards throughout his career while winning five of them, including the Gotham Independent Film Award for Beginners. The 2010 piece, which is arguably his most successful film to date, starred Ewan McGregor who has to come to terms with learning he has cancer while addressing his homosexuality. Christopher Plummer, who is most known for his roles in A Beautiful Mind, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Sound of Music, was the recipient of an Academy Award in 2012 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for the film.
Elle Fanning, who is the younger sister of the popular actress Dakota Fanning, will be taking on the role of Julie—the daughter of Dorothea Fields. The emerging actress is most known for her roles in Maleficent and Super 8. In an attempt to raise her son, Jamie, Dorothea hires Julie and Abbie (played by Greta Gerwig) in order to curb her son’s intractable behavior. The highly anticipated film, which arrives the day before Christmas, is slated to be one of Mills’ most esteemed pieces of his career.
