Roof top pilates in downtown San Diego
For decades, pilates has been the exercise of of choice for many dancers, and Hollywood elite. Still, many wonder what it is.
Pilates is an exercise that improves your mental and physical well-being, increases flexibility, and strengthens your muscles. It uses controlled movements in the form of “mat exercises” to tone and strengthen core muscle groups.
This booming exercise trend is becoming more and more popular among San Diegans and has recently been adopted by the Hotel Solamar as a service to their guests.
The Kimpton’s Hotel Solamar is providing travelers with a new innovative way to maintain their healthy lifestyles on the road with the introduction of complimentary “Poolside Pilates” atop Solamar Terrace; the hotel’s rooftop getaway. Beginning August 23, 2009 through the rest of the year, every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. guests will be able to jump start their day with a revitalizing pilates class while enjoying the gentle San Diego Bay breeze.
The Entertainer comments the Hotel Solamar for its committed to health and wellness and encourages anyone staying at the hotel to give it a go. Not only does Hotel Solamar offer exercise classes, they have a wide variety of other relaxing spa and yoga treatments. If you’re staying there or know someone who is, take advantage of the hotel’s signature in-room mind and body spa services designed to help guests reduce the stress of travel.
The “Poolside Pilates” program is complimentary for all hotel guests and is available to the public for $10 per person, per class. Not a bad deal, even for the passer-by. The price includes mats, music and professional instructors from San Diego’s own Hot Body Pilates. All experience levels are welcome and classes accommodate up to 25 people on a first come, first served basis so we recommend getting there a little early if you want to give it a go.
