We’ve gathered a few facts for you to “wow” your friends and reflect on the history behind this national holiday.

  1. President’s Day is celebrated on the Monday closest to George Washington’s birthday (February 22nd).
  2. The celebration began while George Washington was still alive, and has continued since the 1700’s.
  3. There’s debate on whether it’s “President’s Day” or “Presidents’ Day”–some people celebrate it in reference to George Washington alone, others in reference to both Washington and Lincoln, and some celebrate all presidents.
