Mother’s Day Gift Ideas – Make Mom Feel Special
If you’ve exhausted all the card, chocolate, and flower selections, and breakfast-in-bed is just so grade school, here are some ideas that won’t burn a hole in your wallet.
Macarons: Elegant in the box and delectable to eat, macarons are a step up from chocolates or your everyday cupcakes. They come in many flavors and colors, so pick up a box (and try not to eat them all yourself). Macarons can be found at Opera Cafe and Patisserie here in San Diego.
Plants: No, not flowers! The kind that comes in a pot and won’t die in a week. If she’s a gardener or a cook, try an herb pot for the kitchen or some sprouts from the garden center to start a vegetable plot. Even cooler, how about a hanging tomato garden?
Kitchen tools: If your mom is a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen, consider sprucing up her arsenal of kitchen tools. If you’re going for pretty, try some nice mixing bowls. Useful and up-to-date? Try The Only Digital Scale Measuring Cup.
Accessories: If you can’t afford expensive jewelry, don’t fret. A patterned scarf or some eye-catching accessories like this flowered cuff bracelet will complete her ensemble.
Green and eco-friendly: Personalize a Sigg bottle for a gift she can take with her everywhere. If she’s into exercise, or just on-the-go, this will be a step up from that ashtray you made in kindergarten crafts, but removed enough from those stick figures you still draw, she’ll be proud to tote around your unique-yet-useful creation.
