Fall Fashion Forecast with Britney, Madonna and Gossip Girl

While going back to school may not be on your mind quite yet, the fall fashion forecast is already working in overdrive. From Rock Star-inspired fashions to Madonna’s daughter designing her own line; fashionistas can look forward to some pretty hip styles.

Iconix Brand Group, Inc. brings its 2010 “Back to College” multi-media marketing campaign for its Op® brand via  a hot campaign featuring actress Jessica Szohr of the CW’s Gossip Girl, R&B singer Cassie, actors Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith of the Fox hit show Glee and actor Trevor Donovan of the CW’s 90210.

The national campaign will debut in August in fashion, lifestyle and entertainment magazines such as Teen Vogue, Seventeen and Cosmopolitan, as well as outdoor and online at op.comThe stars that are part of the fashion campaign for the various lines are excited, too.

“My favorite pieces are the hoodies, the fall clothing is great. You can wear Op in a casual way or when you go out,” Monteith said.

“I love the plaid shirts!  All of the fall clothing from Op is perfect for hanging out on campus,” Agron said.

“Op is very affordable but is also really fashionable. It’s great that you can be in style but not spend a ton of money on your outfit,” Szohr added.

The Op fall campaign features an authentic college lifestyle that was photographed on the famed UCLA campus by photographer Larry Bartholomew.

“What better place to shoot the Op ‘Back- To-College’ campaign than the iconic UCLA campus? The fall creative represents the laid-back, cool California vibe that is synonymous with the Op brand,” said Dari Marder, chief marketing officer, Iconix Brand Group, Inc. “We have a great mix of talent this season; Jessica, Dianna, Cory, Cassie and Trevor truly enjoyed hanging out together and had a natural chemistry as a group.”

The Op cast is wearing the fall Op collection of juniors and men’s apparel and accessories in the campaign, which is exclusively available at Wal-Mart.

Night Fashions

And when school let’s out, night time clubwear is also hot, hot, and hot.

Pop Princess Britney Spears, has designed her first-ever collection of apparel and accessories for its Candie’s® brand. The limited edition collection, “Britney for Candie’s,” will be available at Kohl’s Department Stores and kohls.com/candies just in time for the back-to-school season.

“I was so excited when Candie’s asked me to design my very own clothing collection. Designing was a really fun, new way for me to express my creativity and I really wanted to create something by me for my fans. I hope you guys love it,” Spears said.

This marks the popstar’s first foray into fashion designing and her “Britney for Candie’s” is a mixture of day and evening looks, from the best jean to the must have LBD (Little Black Dress). The collection was inspired by Spears’ favorite music and movies and personally designed by the star.

The marketing campaign shows Spears wearing her limited edition collection along with her personal handwritten notes such as, “You’ll love these jeans!” and “Love this skirt for dancing…fun & flirty.” It’s all been “Designed by me for you!” is the slogan

The collection of apparel, handbags and jewelry will range from $14.00 to $78.00.

“This was a great opportunity to offer Britney fans a ‘piece of her’, through this limited edition collection that has been designed by Britney for them.  It was a natural extension of Britney’s long-standing partnership with Candie’s and we were excited to offer her this new creative outlet, as she has always been extremely involved in the fashion process on set,” Marder continued. “Our Candie’s customer will be thrilled to own exclusive clothing and accessories created by Britney.”

Hot on Spears’ fashion trail is the new, highly anticipated junior collection designed in collaboration with Madonna and her daughter, Lola.

“Material Girl” is a newly created fast-fashion junior’s collection that will launch exclusively in 200 Macy’s stores and online at macys.com on August 3, for the back-to-school season.

The “Material Girl” collection will include apparel, footwear, handbags and jewelry with prices ranging from $12.00 to $40.00.

The “Material Girl” is described as a “spontaneous and fearless individual who invents her own fashion trends and is never afraid to make a bold, creative statement. She is influenced by her eclectic taste in music, dance and Hollywood.”

The line is all about “prints and embellishments in the newest silhouettes.  She mixes hard and soft elements, like a tutu dress and studded combat boots, or an oversized boyfriend sweatshirt with a floral print mini skirt.  It’s all about self-expression and playing with layering.”

“Material Girl” this fall is never about just one piece but how you wear it all together to make a unique outfit. Piling on the layers allows you to create to a look that is different from what anyone else would wear.”
