In lieu of the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival (SDBWFF), there will be many other sights, scenes and activities this week to try.

Harland Williams
Where: The American Comedy Company
When: Nov 17 – Nov 20
Cost: $16-$20
What: The eccentric actor and comedian who is known for his roles in Dumber and Dumber, Half Baked, and Something about Mary, will be making an appearance at The American Comedy Company for one of his stand-up routines. Williams has been able to cultivate his career by employing the use of scenes (sketch comedy) and stand-up comedy—a unique blend of talents.

Where: Gaslamp Museum at the Davis-Horton House
When: Nov 17
Cost: Members, Free; Nonmembers, $5.
What: Come and celebrate the opening of this brand-new exhibit, which recounts and observes a large collection of newspapers dating back to the 1850s. At 7:30 pm, there will be a presentation entitled, “History Talks” with Johnny Gonzales—Adjunct Professor of History at Miramar College.
California’s American Indian & Indigenous Film Festival
Where: CSU San Marcos & Pechanga Resort & Casino
When: Nov 17 – Nov 19
Cost: TBD
What: This event commemorates and highlights the works done by American Indian filmmakers, producers, actors and more. The festival will include networking events, panel discussions, screenings and Q&A sessions. Make sure to bring notes and an open-mind to learn about the nuanced and intricate narrative of American Indian history.
Ina Garten: The Barefoot Contessa
Where: Historic Balboa Theatre
When: Nov 16 at 8:00 p.m. It is recommended to arrive 45 minutes early.
Cost: $62 and up.
What: As if San Diego wasn’t already in for a culinary treat this week with SDBWFF, In Garten will –winner of the Emmy and James Beard Award for her show Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics show-will be on the scene at the Balboa Theatre to answer questions from her beloved fans, talk about her show, writing best-selling books, and much more. She will also be autographing her best-selling cook book afterward as well.
John Cleese & Eric Idle
Where: Historic Balboa Theatre
When: Nov 17 at 7:30 p.m. It is recommended to arrive 45 minutes early.
Cost: $62 and up.
What: From the founders who brought you the loving comedic movie Monty Python, Cleese and Idle will be on-hand for an audience Q&A after their Together Again At Last…For the Very First Time show. Their renowned jejune and farcical demeanor makes for the perfect showing for the whole family, so make sure to bring everyone!
