This Weekend in San Diego: Tiger Woods, Craft Beer, Disney On Ice, and More Adventures!

We can see clearly now the rain is gone! Take a deep breath San Diego, you made it through some tough days of storms. Now you can embrace the weekend with some sunshine and fun things to do with your friends or family.

There is A LOT happening this weekend! Tiger Woods is making a debut for 2017 at the Farmer’s Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course, Comedian Ali Wong is performing at the Balboa Theater, Disney on Ice is back, and so much more. We have you covered for some much needed action packed adventures for the weekend.

Over the movie nights in? We are too, there wasn’t many options of things to do while dealing with last weekend’s storm but hey this weekend you can get outside and have some fun!

FARMERS INSURANCE OPEN – TIGER WOODS Y’ALL

Tiger Woods will make his 2017 debut at The Farmers Insurance Open, San Diego’s prestigious PGA Tour golf tournament played at the scenic Torrey Pines Golf Course, returns to the links this weekend. The gates open each day bright and early at 7 a.m., with fun post-play parties later in the day if you’re in a partying mood.

Several ticket options are available for the tournament, depending on which day you want to head to the green, and depending on what you want to get into whether it is drinking, eating, or a little mingle here and there. Grab your best buds and come check out this amazing event!

CARDS AGAINST HUMANITY NIGHT – DUCK FOOT BREWING

Thirsty Thursday everybody but if you’re looking for something a little more low key but still gets you out of the house? We got you covered with the perfect game night for people with a bit of a twisted sense of humor. Play a party favorite – Cards Against Humanity – as you sip on some tasty brews (including the small batch release of Coffee IPA). Each team can consist of two to eight players, and ten teams will play in total starting with a check-in at 6:45 p.m.

And good news for the winner: whoever wins will take home a $100 Duck Foot Brewing gift cards. Attending is free. So come grab some delicious beers and have a chuckle…or two.

CIRCUS VARGAS – DEL MAR FAIRGROUNDS

Grab the family and do something different this weekend! Circus Vargas’ newest show, “Steam Cirque,” inspired by the worlds of steampunk and science-fiction, continues its run this weekend at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

Tickets range from $22 to $72; parking at the venue is $13. Arrive 45 minutes before show time and the kids can partake in an interactive pre-show where they can practice hands-on circus skills like juggling and balancing alongside the pros.

BALBOA THEATER – COMEDIAN ALI WONG

Need some laughs this weekend, well come get your fill with the amazingly talented comedian, writer and actress Ali Wong – of Netflix’s stand-up special, “Ali Wong: Baby Cobra,” will perform Friday and Saturday at downtown’s Balboa Theatre. Wong’s quirky style of comedy has also been featured on the late-night talk show circuit and on Comedy Central’s “Inside Amy Schumer.” Tickets start at $39.50.

ICE ICE BABY – DISNEY ON ICE IS BACK

Disney on Ice World of Enchantment is back in San Diego! Bring the whole family down to the Valley View Casino Center and step into the magical world of Disney.

Four favorites – The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Frozen, Finding Nemo, and Cars – will take over the ice. From wheels to icy wonderlands, see your favorite Disney characters come to life which will surely bring a huge smile to your kiddos faces!

BONFIRE TIME – BEACH OF YOUR CHOICE

This weekend it is supposed to be clear skies, a tad chilly but would make for perfect bonfire conditions for your friends and family. Grab the smore’s, cozy blanket, fire wood, and whatever else your hearts desire.

Maybe you have a friend who can play the guitar, whichever route you choose it would be a fun thing to do on Saturday night if you’re looking for something a little on the chill and relax side. There is a handful of fire pit friendly beaches that are listed below.
