This Weekend in SD – Memory Lane revisited with Music and Memorials
The weekend is shaping up to be quite the trip down memory lane for music lovers around the county. From reunion and anniversary tours to memorials honoring artists who have passed, there is an event for everyone to enjoy as we lucky Southern Californians get to enjoy such sensational sunshine in January.
San Diego Restaurant Week

Del Mar Antique Show
From Friday, January 21st, through Sunday, January 23rd, head up to the Del Mar Fairgrounds to check out the 51st Annual Del Mar Antique Show. Look at some of the great items on display including original San Diego streetcars while getting your own antique belongings appraised or repaired. Be sure to visit their website for a discount coupon on admission.
The Casbah – Justin Jay Memorial
As usual, there are some great acts lined-up to rock The Casbah including Jamuel Saxon, Uncle Joe’s Big Ol’ Driver, Furious IV, and Royal Bangs. However, this Saturday’s Transfer with New Mexico and D/Wolves performance is special as it will be in celebration of the late Justin Jay. The show starts at 7:30 and features a post-concert dance party with DJ Clare spinning the tunes.
Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour
The King of Pop’s legacy lives on as the widely talked about Michael Jackson’s The Immortal World Tour hits San Diego’s Valley View Casino on Saturday, January 21st. The collaboration with Cirque du Soleil fuses dance, music and fantasy into a spectacular event that should not be missed.
House of Blues
The trip back in time doesn’t stop with pop as Hip Hop legends Bone Thugs-n-Harmony return to the stage Thursday, January 20th, performing all the tracks from their sophomore album E.1999 Eternal which includes the hit single “Tha Crossroads.” Then Saturday, January 22nd, Dashboard Confessional takes the stage for the Swiss Army Romance 10th Anniversary Tour with Chris Conley (Saves The Day) and Lady Danville. Also at the House of Blues this weekend is Guster on Sunday, January 23rd, as well as DF & Live Nation presents Creme [De La] Creme featuring Betatraxx with Bubblegum Sci Fi, Ladlesmith, Tre and Dr. Schlongo.

Head over to the SOMA for shows featuring Comeback Kid, Madball, Bleeding Through, Best Coast and Wavves throughout the weekend. Also spend An Evening with George Winston this Saturday as the Grammy Award-winning pianist visits the Birch North Park Theatre.
World’s Largest Endurance Sport Consumer Show and Awards Gala Comes to San Diego this Saturday. Endurance LIVE, the world’s largest endurance sportconsumer show and awards ceremony will offer free clinics, interactive workouts, Q&A sessions and product demos ran by professional athletes and industry leaders, as well as award 2010’s Competitor Runner of the Year, Triathlete of the Year and VeloNews Cyclist of the Year awards. Check it out this Saturday, January 22nd beginning at 9am at the Convention Center the Awards Gala is to follow at the Hard Rock at 5:30.
