This Weekend in San Diego 5/24 – 5/26
This weekend, we will be celebrating Memorial Day to honor and remember those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. San Diego is home to the nation’s largest concentration of military personnel. More than 15,000 active duty service members transition out of active duty service in San Diego each year. To celebrate the holiday, America’s Finest City truly delivers with tons happening this weekend.

Art Happy Hour at Expressive Arts

The Friday Unwind at the Crossings in Carlsbad

USS Midway’s 15th Annual Freedom Concert ft. Daughtry
As part of the USS Midway Museum’s annual Legacy Week line-up, rock out onboard Midway for our annual Freedom Benefit Concert. The Midway’s 15th Annual Freedom Concert is featuring rock band, Daughtry. Doors open at 6:30 pm. The concert begins at approximately 8 pm. This will be a concert experience unlike any other. Fans will have the opportunity to watch a stunning live performance on the flight deck with unparalleled views of the bay at sunset, while also contributing to three local non-profits supporting those in need. San Diego Music Theater: Sister Act
When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent. Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community. The show begins at 8:00 pm; tickets are $30.
Diplo at Omnia

Dip Day Club’s Grand Opening Party
San Diego residents no longer have to face the long drive or crowded weekend flights to get a taste of Sin City parties. Beginning Memorial Day weekend, Sycuan Casino Resort brings Vegas-style day clubs to San Diego with ‘Dip’, a monthly, adults-only summer party at Retreat Pool & Cabanas. Dip Day Club will take the pool experience to a new level in partnership with Five Group (KAABOO, Hakkasan Las Vegas, STK), a local event management company behind some of the most notable experiential festivals and parties in the region. This weekend’s Grand Opening Party will feature Sam Feldt & Special Guest EDX; event starts at noon with tickets starting at $20.

Matisyahu at Music Box

Sing along with the sailors aboard the Star of India this Saturday at the 27th Annual Sea Chanty Festival. The musical lineup includes the Jackstraws, Sportive Ticks, Kick Up the Dust, John Kraus and The Goers, Raggle Taggle, and a grand finale with All Hands on Deck.
