This Weekend in San Diego 11/30-12/2
This weekend kicks off the official start to December which means Christmas trees in every corner and holiday decorations hung in every single mall. San Diego is starting off the festivities with holiday performances, special activities, along with a few of your favorite weekend activities such as hitting the bars with your friends.
Friday, November 30th
Fallbrook Tree Lighting
Come down to Fallbrook to witness the living 50-foot Holiday tree lighting. The lighting will honor the community, goodwill, and holiday spirit as well as have live music, food, arts and crafts, games, and other fun activities that you and your family can enjoy.
Charlie Brown Christmas
Come out this Friday to The Village Church to see the performance of A Charlie Brown Christmas from 7-9pm. Watch the story of Charlie Brown as he tries to help people understand the true meaning of Christmas. Tickets start at $10.
Saturday, December 1st
Starting this Saturday, the Frosty Farm will be combining up-close animal encounters along with family encounters, giving you the perfect place to celebrate the Holidays. There will be activities, an hour-long excursion, along with crafts if you wish to participate. The holiday and animal fun starts every Saturday at 1 pm at the Helen Woodward Animal Center, with tickets starting at $10.99.
Start your holidays off in full relaxation mode at the Psychic Fair this Saturday at 10 am, located at the Harmony Grove Spiritualist Association. Explore the meditation gardens, purchase little finds at the local vendors, and discover your love for the fresh air and scent of trees. Enjoy a day that will get you ready for the craziness the holidays bring. Tickets starting at $25.
The Santee Historical Society is starting off the holiday season with an open house this Saturday from 10:30 am-1 30 pm at the Santee Historical Society and Museum. Enjoy the petting zoo, music, refreshments, and a visit from Santa, all while supporting the cause of preserving the museum history.
Sunday, December 2nd
Decorating your home for the holidays shouldn’t cost you a small fortune. Christmas Bazzaar is being held at St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church this Sunday starting at 8:30 am. Purchase gently used and formerly owned holiday decorations that come with a story!
Allied Gardens Sunday Market
The holidays wouldn’t same without a traditional farmers market to get treats at! Every Sunday from 10am-2pm, you can come to the Lewis Middle School and explore allied gardens, fresh produce, eggs, meat fish, and flowers, along with other homemade goods that will make the perfect gift for anyone this holiday season.
Fair Trade Alternative Gift Fair
This Sunday at 10 am enjoy the beautiful crafts from artisans around the globe and meet new people while supporting the nonprofit organizations that will be in attendance. The event takes place at First Lutheran Church of San Diego and is providing food sampling and a relaxing day spent with family while starting the holidays off rejuvenated.
Clean Slate Holiday Market
There is no better way to end the year than a celebration and a holiday market that will get you into the holiday spirit. Enjoy the music, food, music, brans, and the best part- the beer. Enjoy the amazing deals provided by vendors and these vendors will also be releasing exclusive products. The 60+ vendors are here to help you with your holiday shopping at a discounted rate, all while creating a fun outing that will make shopping more fun than ever. The Nemeth Foundation’s Blanket Drive
Start the holiday season off right by giving back to your community with the help from The Nemeth Foundation. The foundation will be hosting a blanket drive to provide warmth and comfort to the homeless. The event goes until December 28th. If you wish to donate money instead of blankets, go to their website and all of the proceeds will go towards helping the homeless community.
The Sea of Lights will be an ongoing wonderland until December 28th at the La Valencia Hotel in San Diego. The 7th annual event lights op the Punk Lady with sparkling lights and a magical atmosphere that fills the air. Don’t miss out on a holiday San Diego tradition!
This weekend, the Lamplighters represent a Christmas production set in the 1980s. This play will make you yearn for your childhood while celebrating the memories that lay ahead. The show will be held at the Lamplighters Community Theatre, with tickets starting at $10.
Seas ‘n’ Greetings Holiday Celebration
The month-long holiday celebration at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps is hosting the Seas ‘N’ Greetings Holiday celebration starting at 9 am every day. The underwater world is transformed into a winter wonderland and you can expect special activities and Scuba Santa. Tickets start at $19.50.
