This Weekend in San Diego 1/17-1/19
The weekend is upon us! For those of you participating in Dry January, you’re about halfway there – congrats. Despite being the nation’s beer capital, there are tons to do sans alcohol in America’s Finest City. A beautiful weekend is ahead of us full of festivals, farmer’s markets, football playoffs and much more – make the most of it!
Friday, January 17
Cinema Under the Stars
Spend your Friday night at Cinema Under the Stars, located in Mission Hills, for a fun outdoor theatre experience where you can watch US (2019). Admission starts at $17; showtime starts at 8 pm.
San Diego Gulls VS Tucson Roadrunners
Support your local hockey team and watch the San Diego Gulls dominate against the Tucson Roadrunners at 7 pm. $2 bud light beer will also be available for guests throughout the game. Tickets start at $26.
Matilda at the Coronado Playhouse
Mingle with fellow theatre lovers and enjoy the ambiance and excitement of opening night of Matilda at the Coronado Playhouse at 5:30 pm. Ticket start at $30 per person.
San Diego Zoo Safari Park
Enjoy a self-guided tour, with the option to add the Africa Tram excursion! There are plenty of arts and crafts for children, music and much more. Park opens at 9 am and the price for admission is $15 for adults and $10 for kids.
Saturday, January 18
Boomshaka Festival
The 2nd annual reggae festival is back featuring Iration and Cypress Hill, located at Pechanga Arena. The venue will feature craft cocktails, beer, and local dining options. General admission is $70 per person; event begins at 3 pm.
Onesie PJ Bar Crawl
Dress up in your coziest onesie this Saturday night for the chance to experience a night of bar crawling in te gaslamp. What is more, fun drinking with friends in your PJs? The event will begin at the Tin Roof in Downtown San Diego at 8 pm. Tickets are $15 per person.
Painting and Brew
Bring out your inner Picasso and paint a “Glorious Flamingo” and this fun brew and paint event. Sip on your favorite craft beer and get creative with your friends. Must be 21+ to attend. Tickets are $45 per person.
Women’s March
The fourth annual women’s march is back at the Waterfront Park beginning at 10 am. 10 am performances will begin and the march will start at noon. Bring your sign, t-shirt, and attitude Saturday morning.
Sunday, January 19
Wine Stroll at Gaslamp Quarter
For $60, enjoy an evening of history, vino and small bites all throughout the Gaslamp Quarter. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy 3 wine bars with local wine experts and pairings, and education on the history of Gaslamp Quarter and wine history in San Diego and California. Must be $21+.
2020 Carlsbad Marathon, Half Marathon, Double Down, and Surf Sun Run 5K
The Surf Sun Run 5K features an out-and-back course that passes by the beautiful Buena Vista Lagoon and starts and finishes at The Shoppes at Carlsbad. The entry includes a long-sleeve technical fabric race shirt, souvenir cinch bag, gorgeous medal, personalized bib number, complimentary beer and much more. Be sure to show up at 6:45 am to collect all materials before the race.

San Diego Restaurant Week is back! Enjoy 8 days and over 180 restaurants in San Diego County for special deals for lunch and dinner from Jan 19-Jan 26. Find a list of participating restaurants here. Prices vary per restaurant for each tasting.
Leucadia/Encinitas Farmers’ Market and Art Fair
Take a stroll through the coast for a day full of art and crafts along with a Farmers’ Market from 10-2 pm. The Leucadia Farmers Market is a Family Friendly Certified Farmers Market consisting of 75+ vendors.
Yoga at Tuna Wharf Park
Enjoy a guided Vinyasa inspired flow set in Tuna Wharf Park near the iconic statue of the kissing soldier. Be sure to bring comfortable clothes, water, and a towel. The class will begin at 12 pm.
Football Games at Draft
Catch the big playoff game of Tennessee Titans vs Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday at 12:05 pm. Draft offers over 100 brews, $20 game time beer bucks and 31 ft screen TVs.
