This weekend in Downtown San Diego
With Comic Con in full swing you can guarantee this weekend in San Diego to be an eventful one! If you found yourself ticketless, but you still want to experience the charade of costume displays don’t freight. Dress up as your favorite character, maybe use an old Halloween costume, catch a cab (parking will be ridiculous), and make your way downtown. Several bars and restaurants will be offering specials because of the madness downtown, so take advantage of this early Halloween weekend, order yourself a happy drink, and get ready to people watch. Comic Con will be dominating downtown from July 12 – 15.
The Walking Dead Escape:
Zombies will be taking over Petco Park July 12-14. Producers of The Walking Dead Escape transformed part of Petco Park into a Zombie Apocalypse complete with Initiation/ Preparedness area, Evacuation Zone, Decontamination Zone, Acute Zombie Infestation Area and other zombie visuals. Those partcipating have a choice of either being a Survivor racing through the zombie infested evacuation zone; a Walker who becomes one of the undead; or a Spectator who watches the apocalypse from sidelines at the Escape Party. The Haunted Hotel – Comic Con Style
The Haunted Hotel will be open, but be cautious of the arm you hold onto, since almost everyone will be in costume!

“Darkness & Light” Art Exhibition
“The Darkness & Light Art Inspired by Heroes & Villains, Hope & Heroism exhibition is a one-of-a-kind art and education tour to raise awareness and funds for the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa. The exhibit is a unique pairing of two elements that would not normally go together – comic-inspired artwork and real-world photography that shows moments of heroism in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. This is an exciting and unique event featuring some of today’s top contemporary artists and a collection of original artwork inspired by the DC Comics’ Justice League characters.”
