Temecula Valley World of Wine Barrel Tasting – This Weekend
Calling all wine lovers! It’s time to savor the variety of wine offerings at the Temecula Valley World of Wine. This annual event draws visitors from all over Southern California, looking for that brilliant bottle of wine to take home and share with family and friends.
Whether you enjoy a rich cabernet or light champagne, the World of Wine (WoW) tasting event is sure to please. The 35,000 acres of vineyards boast award-winning wines from 30 family-owned wineries all in one central location. You can attend this two-day event that includes a self-guided wine country tour, where you can taste varietal wines paired with appetizers that will both please the palate and enlighten the senses.
Luscious wine and delectable foods are impossible to pass up.
Just in case you need to brush up on your wine tasting technique, here is an easy three-step process to follow:
Look at the wine in a clear glass. Notice the rim color—white wines range from green to yellow to brown, and red wines from pale red to a deep brown red. Give your glass a slight swirl. The “legs” along the sides of the glass indicate a higher alcohol content or sweetness level.
Smell with one deep whiff. Common aromas include fruit, flowers, earthy, wood, herbs and spices. Which do you detect in this glass?
Taste your long-awaited glass. How did your taste buds react? Was the wine light or rich? Smooth or harsh? Will you be enjoying this wine again, or leaving it behind?
This 21-and-up event is the perfect opportunity to take your wine expertise to the next level while enjoying a weekend in the beautiful Temecula Valley.
WoW takes place this weekend, March 5 and 6, from 10am to 4:30pm. There are two-day tickets available for $99 per person, and include tastings from all 30 wineries. You will receive a map of the Temecula Valley and a souvenir glass to commemorate your experience.
Cheers!
