San Diego Zoo After Dark
Lions, tigers, and the zoo, oh my! Summer is here which means that the night time San Diego Zoo can commence. Summer means staying out late, and experiencing the live entertainment that the zoo can provide you. There will be live music and entertainment along with a couple of surprises. This event is from June 18th – September 4th, and is sponsored by Toyota.
Visit the Conrad Prebys Africa Rocks, the San Diego Zoo’s newest edition. There are activities, performances and even some dining choices available on their website. Come learn more about a special relationship between a cheetah and a dog at the Keeper Talk: Cheetahs are Cool. Watch this unusual pair interact, while getting the inside scoop of their friendship. Or come to the Rock and Roar where you can jam out to your favorite songs on a warm summer night while being surrounded by friends, and of course, your favorite animals.
The Funky Monkeys will be dancing and showing us some new dance moves that you won’t want to miss. This will be your kids’ new favorite summer activity, and it’s something you and your family can all do it together. They will love the cute and furry animals, along with acrobatic acts at the New Friends Rock! and live bands. With spread out exhibits, there will be plenty of room for you and your family to come and enjoy your evening. This is a must-go-to if you live in the San Diego area.
There are bus tours to enjoy as well as many other activities that will keep you and your family very busy during your visit. These activities include the funky music and throwbacks from The Chameleons, and the Meet Flamingo and Rhino Puppets exhibit on Front Street. Your kids will enjoy the Dr. Zoolittle & Friends Explore Africa at 5pm and 6pm. This hilarious puppet show will have your children giggling and grinning ear to ear.
Join the San Diego Zoo to help celebrate 100 years of being an establishment in San Diego, while enjoying your summer vacation. There will be close up animal interaction that will be open nightly until 9pm. On special Saturday’s the zoo will celebrate certain animal’s birthdays and you and your family can be a part of the special day. Map out your destinations before visiting the night time attraction so that you will waste absolutely no time!
