Rhythm and Brews Festival: May 6th
San Diego County has been called “The Craft Beer Capital of America,” and for good reason. Our city is home to more than 100 breweries, microbreweries, and brewpubs. But it’s not just the amount of breweries and the quality of the beer that makes us the craft beer capital of America. The craft beer community in San Diego is a supportive, collaborative, and welcoming mix of folks who encourage and support each other’s success. This spirit of camaraderie and collaboration is the idea behind The San Diego Brewers Guild’s Rhythm & Brews Festival.
San Diego’s craft beer community will gather on May 6th for this annual event. The Rhythm and Brews Festival will pair many of the country’s most celebrated craft breweries with local musicians and popular food trucks. On Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m., craft beer aficionados will gather along ‘Hop Highway’ in historic downtown Vista Village to sample IPAs, barrel-aged brews, sour ales and much more from over 50 of San Diego’s most acclaimed breweries.
While you sample beer and enjoy the community, there will be live musical performances from Ashley Hollander, The Tighten Ups, and San Diego’s own Grammy nominated P.O.D. Local food trucks will also have a large presence at the festival, including Cousins Main Lobster, Criscito Pizza and Currywurst Frankfurt.
Proceeds from the festival benefit the San Diego Brewers Guild – a non-profit whose mission is to promote awareness and visibility for San Diego’s growing craft beer industry. The San Diego Brewers Guild is the third-largest guild in the U.S., and by far the largest city or county guild in the country. The mission of the San Diego Brewers Guild is to promote awareness and increase the visibility of fresh, locally brewed beer through education and participation in community events.
San Diego breweries have become known for excellence, award winning beer, and a culture of cooperation. Craft beer is the fastest growing segment of alcoholic beverages in the United States, and its influence is spawning interest in artisanal foods as well, richening our local culture all the while. Our local brewing scene is likely to continue playing a key role in the movement; the proof is increasingly woven into our city’s fabric, especially as Mayor Jerry Sanders declared June Craft Beer Month in San Diego. The Rhythm and Brews Festival is the perfect way to close out spring and gear up for the Craft Beer Month of June.
General admission tickets for The Rhythm and Brews Festival are going for $45. VIP tickets will get you early entry at 12pm. VIP tickets will not be available the day of the event, so get them now! There will be over 100 beers available for sampling, no tabs or tokens, and a commemorative cup.
Get out of the house this Saturday to enjoy the beer, music, food, merch, and the good company of fellow brew lovers. Cheers!
