Play hooky, Ferris Bueller-style

For those whose weekend couldn’t come any earlier, Kin Lounge at the Manchester Grand Hyatt invites you to Downtown’s Day Off next Friday, August 28.

Inspired by the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off“, where the title character plays hooky from school and spends a day in downtown Chicago, the upscale lounge encourages the overworked to ditch their business suits, put on their bathing suits, and party on the pool deck from noon to 6 p.m.

The party will feature a free lunch of Chicago dogs, along with live entertainment by DJ Ryan Kelver and The Wagon. The film that inspired the party will also be showing, as will the Cubs-Mets game. The event is free for all downtown residents or employees, and $10 for everyone else.
