Little Italy is always a great place to visit, walk around, and enjoy great food. The vibrant community is a gem of San Diego. This weekend Little Italy plays host to the largest open-air art festival in Southern California. Whether you’re interested in paiting, sculpture, music, or dance, there will be something for you.
The Mission Federal Artwalk is April 30-May 1 from 11am to 6pm. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the event and this year promises to be a wonderful time for everyone.
This great springtime event gives you the opportunity to enjoy the San Diego weather in a beautiful location. Festival attendees will get a real sense of the San Diego, California, and global art scene.
The Artwalk will bring more than 400 artists and musical performances to the expected croud of 120,000. There will be 16 blocks lined with art for display and purchase, so put on your walking shoes and bring your wallet. Bring the kids too because there will be a special KidsWalk with free hands-on art activities throughout the day.
Young and old will enjoy activities and performances, not to mention art and food. The event, brought to you by Mission Federal Credit Union, is free to attend. In these tough economic times, a free event that’s good for the whole family is surely needed.
The ArtWalk will stretch from Beech Street to Grape Street, filling Little Italy with both visual and performing art. For more information visit www.missionfederalartwalk.org.
San Diego resident for over 10 years, I now call this beautiful city home. Originally from the Bay Area, I'm a California girl at heart. I love the outdoors, fitness, food, and a good craft beer (from San Diego of course).
