Gator by the Bay in San Diego
Gator by the Bay, a Zydeco blues and Crawfish Festival, is back in San Diego for their 12th year. This festival has been the annual spot to get your fill of Louisiana food and great music. This is the place to be on May 10, 11 and 12th this year so get your tickets at their website.
First and foremost, the food available here at this festival will come stocked with food vendors of all kinds of Louisiana specialties. But for those not interested in the allure of Southern crawfish, Po’Boys, gumbo or cornbread, there are other selections that include Jamaican cuisine, Thai and much more. Of course the obvious festival burgers, kettle corn, fries and other classics will also be available. With all this amazing food, the greatest attraction is still the food demos featuring the chefs of San Diego Mesa College Culinary Arts Department and Mitch the Crawfish Man from Opelousas, Louisiana. Come enjoy the demos from these skilled chefs as Mitch teaches SoCal’ers how to eat like we’re from down south. If you’re daring enough, the adventurous option of Gator gumbo or Gator on a stick will definitely entertain your bold side!
Next up we have the amazing performers at this year’s event. Gator by the Bay is proud to host over 60 bands, artists and performers this year. Forget the hard rock, hip hop and rap on the radio and come enjoy music styles ranging from Zydeco, Cajun, Blues, to Swing and Country. Come out and enjoy the beautiful San Diego sun to relax, dance and just soak in the great music and better vibes. This festival has always been the best kind for kids, families, couples and everything in between. With kids 17 and under free with a paid adult, who wouldn’t bring their children! This is the perfect place for your family to engage in entertainment, fun activities and great food.
Make sure to get your tickets early, bring all your friends and come out to Spanish Landing Park at Harbor Island for Gator by the Bay this year.
