Channel 933 Summer Kick Off Concert this Friday

Channel 9.33 does it again with their Summer Kick Off Concert tomorrow, Friday, May 14th at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater. Last year the line up included big names such as Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Flo Rida and others.

Apparently Channel 9.33 can rise to the occasion, because despite a tough line up to follow from last year’s show, this year’s edition has some of the hottest artists on the air. Usher, Justin Bieber, Akon, Iyaz, B.O.B, J-L-S, Ke$ha and Jason Derulo will all be performing for your viewing pleasure tomorrow starting at 6p.

Usher has been an icon since the 90s, with hits like “U Remind Me” and most recently “Love in this Club.” Usher does not come to San Diego often so this is a rare chance to catch the super star hunk, live in action.

2010 may be declared the year of “Beiber” with teenagers, mother’s and college kids alike clamoring for anything and everything Justin. Justin Beiber was discovered on YouTube by his current manager, Scooter Braun. Beiber was soon signed to Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), which is a collaboration between Scooter Braun and Usher.

The debut single from Beiber “One Time” charted in the top 30 in over ten countries. On March 23rd, 2010 Beiber released My World 2.0, his first studio album and follow up to My World which was released in November 2009. The current single, “Baby” which features Ludacris is spinning constantly on the radio, and is expected to be in his set list.

Ke$ha has become an overnight phenomenon with her own flavor of dance pop music. Her debut single “Tik Tok” released in October 2009 because the longest running number one single by a female artist since 1977.

In early 2010 her debut CD Animal was released and in its first week sold over 152,000 copies. Her next single “Blah Blah Blah” is currently playing on air waves and has already charted in the top ten in four countries.

Finally Jason Derulo rounds off the line up of the hottest acts out there, and that he should. Before releasing “Watcha Say” in 2009, Derulo was a song writer for Lil Wayne, Birdman and P.Diddy. “Watcha Say” was a huge digital download hit, selling over 2 million units. The follow up single “In my head” was released in late 2009 and peaked at number 5 on the US charts, all the songs are on his album released early 2010 self titled Jason Derulo.
