Best Coast Beer Fest 2017: Saturday, March 11th

In just a few more days, thousands of people will be heading to Embarcadero Park South in San Diego’s Downtown. On Saturday, March 11th, join the celebration of craft beers from all over San Diego, while supporting a cause. This festival, known for being Will Ferrell’s favorite beer fest, is held annually to support Cancer for College–an organization dedicated to providing college scholarships for individuals who have survived cancer. Founder of Cancer for College, Craig Pollard, is a two-time cancer survivor who made a deal with God to live his life for the purpose of making a difference in the world if he survived that second bout. Survive he did, and as a senior in business school, he made a proposal for a business plan that would provide scholarships to cancer survivors. Craig met Will Ferrell when he was in college, and visited him at local comedy clubs before his career was off and running. Eventually Ferrell saw the impact that Cancer for College was having, and spent his efforts focusing on backing the organization. Today over $2 Million in scholarships have been given in support of the cause.

This Saturday, you can be a part of the legacy, too! And what better way than with a day of drinking from a selection of over 200 beers from 90 local breweries. San Diego continues to make a mark in the world of craft beer, with major players like Stone, Karl Strauss, Modern Times, Mike Hess, and Ballast Point (to name a few of the bigger breweries). During the celebration expect to experience unlimited beer tastings, live music, and an alley of food trucks–all in the perfect 70 degree San Diego weather.
