Twining’s Take heads to Beer Fest; stay tuned for live coverage
Today’s the day, San Diegans. The 17th Annual Festival of Beer makes it’s triumphant return to Downtown San Diego – 6,000 people, more than 70 breweries and 150 different craft beers. Including a variety of draft beers, donated by the breweries for this 100-percent volunteer-driven fundraiser, beverages will include ciders and wines. Because, let’s face it, not everybody loves beer, some people just prefer a good glass of wine.
Regardless of your choice in beverage, San Diego Professionals Against Cancer have pulled out all the stops in this year’s event. In addition to the drinks, food and merchandise available, there will be live music on two stages to provide the perfect summer-evening atmosphere.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and costs $40 at the gate. Remember, nearly 100 percent of proceeds go to cancer-fighting charities, tickets include 10 4oz. tasters, and the first 6,000 attendees receive a souvenir sampler.
Throughout the night I will be live-tweeting from the event at my twitter handle @Twinetime22 with the hashtag #TTatFoB, for Twining’s Take at Festival of Beer. Also, with my 10 free samples, I will choosing 10 different brewers and sampling one of their beverages.
Following the event, stay tuned for a recap of my experience as well as my opinion on each beer sampled.
Hopefully I’ll see you all out there at this charity-driven event and remember, plan ahead and don’t drink and drive.
