Must Go: San Diego County Fair “Mad About the Fair”
“You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”
26 days of whimsical, wacky, and wondrous adventures, the 2016 San Diego County Fair is a scene straight out of wonderland. Beginning on June 4th, the clock is ticking for you to experience San Diego’s biggest annual event.
Tea parties, Mad Hatters, Cheshire cats, and spinning clocks are featured all over the park as you make your way through the thrilling experience. Once inside, the fairground features its usual attractions such as farm animals, a variety of delicious food and drink options, rides, games, and car shows. From there, you can venture down the rabbit hole, and step into the world of Alice. Walk through the doors to wonderland, and partake in tea parties, games, and whacky photo opportunities.
Every Sunday the fair hosts Tea Time in Wonderland in the Paul Ecke Jr. Garden Show. Bring your family and wear your best Queen of Hearts costume as you have tea with Alice for 90 minutes. Apart from the mad world of Alice, the fair also has a new exhibit, California Grown. The interactive exhibit displays how California farming began, how it is now, and what it will be like in the future.
“I’m late, I’m late for a very important date.”
Ending on July 4th, you won’t want to miss this year’s theme at the San Diego County Fair. See the regular attractions, ride the thrilling coasters, and step into the imaginative world of Alice in Wonderland. At day’s end, take in the beauty of San Diego on top of the Ferris Wheel and after a day’s trip, you truly will be Mad About the Fair.
