Toast to the Sunset at TOWER23’s Summer Wine Series

Wine lovers look no further! Taste and test your palate with varietals from across the world at TOWER23’s annual “Sip into Summer Wine Series”. Get ready to swirl, sip and repeat because this series will continue every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m., from June 20 – September 12. Learn about different vintages and varietals from prominent vineyards and wine professionals on the Tower Deck.

This is a one-of-a-kind tasting experience where you can enjoy the golden hour and the energetic sights and sounds of the Pacific Beach boardwalk. Tickets are priced at $25 per person and can be purchased here. Below is the scheduled line up of wineries who will be making an appearance at this year’s Sip into Summer Wine Series.

June 20 – Frog’s Leap Napa Valley + Live Music by David Shyde
Frogs Leap has been farming grapes organically since 1988 and farms all of its vineyards without irrigation. They adhere to the premise that the greatest wines are those that reflect their soil, climate and circumstance.

June 27 – South American Wines with Kent Smith
The growing regions of each country in South America vary drastically allowing for different varietals to be produced including Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat, Chardonnay and Merlot.

July 11 – Groth/Dutton, Napa/Sonoma Goldfield Wineries
Groth Vineyards & Winery is located in the region of Oakville and is known for their Cabernet Sauvignon with a lush palate and fruit forward flavors. Dutton Estate Winery is located on the corner of the Russian River and are committed to sustainable farming.

July 18 ­– New Napa with Patrick Ballou
There are over 450 wineries in Napa Valley and Patrick Ballou will lead a tasting of the newest wineries in the region that are making a name for themselves.

July 25 – Skurnik Wines West with Dustin Jones, San Diego Representative
For over 30 years Skurnik Wines has been searching the globe to assemble the finest portfolio of wines available at all prices.

August 1 – Kermit Lynch Imports
Kermit Lynch sources wines from France and Italy. Whether you tend towards Grand Cu classics or everyday reds, whites and rosés, Kermit Lynch will have a varietal to appease your palate.

August 8 – Spottswoode, Pilcrow and Vineyards 29 Wineries, Napa Valley
Spottwoode is known for their Estate Cabernet Sauvignon that exudes elegant power, naturally refined tannins and extraordinary color. Pilcrow is a boutique winery that is dedicated to neo-class, small-lot wines that have a clear representation of the terroir. Vineyard 29 is known for their 29 Estate, Aida Estate and Cru wines.

August 15 – Rombauer, Napa Valley
Rombauer has vineyards across Napa Valley where they source their grapes, allowing them to produce a wide range of varietals. They are best known for their Chardonnay which is grown in Carneros, the coolest climate in the Valley.

August 22 ­– Vineyard Brands with Paul Hodges
Vineyard Brands sources wines from all across the globe including Argentina, Australia, Chilé, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and California.

August 29 – Wines with Nick Hetzel, Master Sommelier
Nick’s passion for food lead to his intrigue in wine and its role in the dining experience. This thirst for wine knowledge lead him to a 15 year sommelier career. In the summer of 2013, Hetzel earned the most prestigious title a sommelier can achieve by passing the Master Sommelier Diploma exam.

September 5 – Laird Family Wines
The Laird Family has been growing fruit in Napa for over 40 years. They specialize in Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Grigio sourced from appellations across Napa Valley.

September 12 – Moet & Chandon + Live Music
Moet & Chandon is one of the world’s largest champagne produces and a prominent champagne house. They were established in 1743 by Claude Moet and produce 28,000,000 bottles of champagne annually.
