Thirsty Thursday: Strawberry Agua Fresca

Summertime in San Diego calls for refreshing sips and Sandbar, in Mission Beach, has an impressive lineup of craft cocktails and tequilas! From their breakfast beverages to their rotating slushie special, this beach bar offers some of the city’s best drinks, including their Strawberry Agua Fresca.

Agua fresca, which translates to “fresh water” or “cool water”, is a Mexican-style drink made with fresh fruit juices!

And now, you can make your own at home thanks to Sandbar’s delicious recipe:

Strawberry Agua Fresca

Ingredients

• 2 oz Espolon Reposado Tequila
• 1 oz lime juice
• 1 oz simple syrup
• 6-7 fresh strawberries 
• 5-6 mint sprigs 
• soda water

Instructions

1. Muddle strawberries and add to shaker
2. Combine tequila, lime juice and simple syrup in shaker
3. Add ice
4. Shake and strain over fresh ice in a pint glass
5. Top with a splash of soda water and garnish with mint sprigs
6. Enjoy!
