The San Diego Wine Country Festival will be held on July 27th, 2013
More than 20 wineries from throughout San Diego County will be sharing their wares at the 2013 San Diego Wine Country Festival. The fair will be holding forth at that wonderful North County hidden treasure, the Bernardo Winery. There, on Saturday, July 27 from 1-4 pm, winemakers and their wine will be available in Rancho Bernardo.
Various booths will have information detailing our local area of wine production. Experts will discuss which grapes grow well here and what wines they produce.
For something to pair with your wine tasting, a multitude of food vendors will be on hand, including Cafe Merlot’s cheese platter booth. Also planned for the festival is the latin guitar stylings of local duo Chini and Camberos, a silent auction, free items from local establishments and booths set up to provide a learning experience about wine, courtesy of the San Diego Vintner’s Association.
For tickets, go to www.brownpapertickets.com. Purchased online, the cost is $25 per person. Purchasing tickets at the door goes for $30 per person. Either way, every ticket includes 12 wine tastings, a personal-sized fresh baguette, olive oil and vinegar for dipping and a San Diego Vintners Association event logo tasting glass.
Wine tasting will be from 1-4pm, , while wine will be available to be bought by the bottle from 1-6 pm.
Three Rancho Bernardo hotels, the Rancho Bernardo Inn, the Courtyard Marriot and the Hilton Garden Inn are providing free shuttle service to and from Bernardo Winery for their guests during the event. Parking is free and legal along the length of Paseo del Verano. Please be cautious, as there will be many people walking along this road to the winery.
The Bernardo Winery can be found at 13330 Paseo del Verano, San Diego, 92128, which is west of Pomerado Road in Rancho Bernardo. To speak to someone, call 858-487-1866.
