Tasting Wine for a Great Cause
It is hard to think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than on the garden terrace of the Westgate Hotel sampling pours of wine paired with tempting delicacies. The event to do this at is the 26th Annual Wine & Roses Charity Wine Tasting, which benefits Camp Oliver.
Over 70 domestic and international wineries are featured at the event including Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Crest, Frank Family Vineyards, Hahn Estates, Napa Station and Rutherford Ranch.
The wines that are poured as samples and featured for sale at the event are all medal winners from the San Diego International Wine Competition (SDIWC). They are sorted by their winning category and sold by the case.
Some of San Diego’s finest restaurants will be onsite expertly pairing delicious cuisine to accompany the wines. Featured restaurants include Avenue 5, Café Chloe, The Better Half, The Oceanaire Seafood Room and Urban Solace.
This event draws a large crowd each year and raises money for a worthwhile charity, Camp Oliver, a youth summer camp program located in Descanso. This year proceeds from the event will also benefit students enrolled at junior colleges majoring in the nursery trade.
Don’t miss your chance to support this worthwhile event while enjoying a relaxing and delicious Sunday afternoon atop the Westgate Garden Terrace.
