San Diego restaurants celebrating Thanksgiving
Paying, planning, and researching for ingredients and groceries can become cumbersome to many people in preparation for one of the biggest holidays in the United States.
With the stress and chaos that tends to rear its ugly head during Thanksgiving, many retreat to the confines of the restaurant business with the assurance of hardly any imposed expectations of their own food quality.
And for good reason.
Moreover, many perfectly sedulous people simply don’t have the time to cook for their families given the already chaotic nature of their respective work schedules. In fact, some people may want to remove themselves from that scene in favor for a more refined or isolated experience.
If you are one of these people, or simply want to find a place that can give you a refreshing way to begin the day with fresh-tasting food during Thanksgiving, then look no further than the Breakfast Republic with locations in North Park, Liberty Station and Encinitas. This restaurant lives and breathes breakfast with its kitchen-like aesthetic and feel to their interior decor. With outfitted chairs and hardwood floors, one can’t help but feel as if they haven’t left their dining room after strolling through the entrance. Their Thanksgiving special will feature an organic black rice breakfast risotto with parmesan cheese, shiitake mushrooms with a choice of three eggs or bacon-embedded pancakes and more.
But if you’re not in the mood for a Thanksgiving breakfast and elect for a relaxing lunch by Mission Beach, then Miss B’s Coconut Club offers just the right experience to enjoy your day. This whimsical getaway can almost be seen as a vacation-like setting when you step inside the Caribbean themed establishment. Sometimes, absconding away from all of the festivities can act as the quintessential way to alleviate unwanted stress. Miss B’s Coconut Club will be serving its first Caribbean-inspired turkey dinner along with a brunch from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for $15 per person.
Given that Thanksgiving is a perennial holiday filled that often leaves its many people incapacitated from the sheer amount of food intake, it suffices to say that it doesn’t hurt to treat oneself to an affluent dining experience.
To top off the day, Bellamy’s in Escondido will be hosting an all-day Thanksgiving dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for $50 per customer. That amount will constitute a three course meal served by French Master Chef Patrick Ponsaty and Chef Jonathan Freyberg. Ponsaty boasts 31 years of experience working for Bellamy’s as a corporate chef while Freyberg has worked alongside him for an additional eight years after working in the kitchen from the age of 14. These skilled artisans have found acclaimed success, including an honorable mention in the Thrillist‘s ranked list of “San Diego’s 10 Best Neighborhoods for Dining Out,” earlier this year.
Live music will be provided alongside $25 corkage fee per bottle.
After perusing through these options, we hope you find one (or two) that can help make your Thanksgiving holiday a seamless and relaxing one.
