October 17th is National Pasta Day

By  |

Today is arguably one of the best obscure holidays of the year, National Pasta Day. San Diego has a very diverse dining scene that offers up many options when it comes to Italian food. From mom and pop stops to flashy new restaurants, it is safe to say us San Diegan’s are spoiled when it comes to options for National Pasta Day.

This day gives everyone a free pass on eating as much pasta as they wasn’t with absolutely no judgment at all. To help you indulge in the greatest day of the year, here are some of the best Italian restaurants in San Diego.

With a name like Divine Pastabilities, it’s almost certain that you can’t go wrong. With fettuccine alfredo, lasagna and pasta sandwiches, this Italian restaurant will meet all of your carb needs. The restaurant features unique plating and creative dish names which will fulfill your National Pasta Day requirements.

Bencotto Italian Kitchen is located in the fitting, Little Italy San Diego. With top reviews, this fine dining restaurant is ready to load you up with pasta, pasta and more pasta. The pasta is always made fresh and in-house (which is the best) and you are able to build your own pasta dish at Bencotto. One reviewer claimed that they have died and gone to carb heaven, and we are all about to join her.

San Diego has a lot of fine dining, but for those who want to go easy on our wallets, there is no better place than Pastalini. The cozy and fresh ambiance will make you feel right at home while you’re stuffing your face with delicious pasta. You can create your own pasta, dive in to a calzone, and enjoy fresh homemade meatballs. The website states “2008, Pastalini® was created from the idea that food should not only taste good but be good for you too.” We agree, and are heading your way, Pastalini.

I am not kidding when I say the list for amazing pasta places in San Diego could go on and on. We are all pampered when it comes to eating in San Diego as it is one of the best food melting pots in the world. San Diego makes us all feel a little bit better about not being able to jump on a plane and head to Italy for National Pasta Day.
