Our Favorite Food Truck Options in SD

By  |

Food trucks are often an overlooked option when considering where to grab a bite to eat. San Diego has a lot of great food truck options, and some of these trucks have developed quite the following. We think that once you’ve tried a meal from these traveling restaurants, you’ll be throwing them into the mix next time you decide where to dine.

Baby’s Badass Burgers

Grillin’ isn’t just for the boys. This adorably badass pink food truck is whipping up some of the best burgers in town. The menu includes beef, turkey, and veggie burgers, and they’ve all been given girly names. We recommend the Original Beauty (Swiss cheese, grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, and baby’s special sauce) or The Good Wife (smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and bacon served with baby’s special spicy sauce and a fried egg over easy). God Save the Cuisine

With a clever name like “God Save the Cuisine”, how could you not want to step right up and order some fish and chips? This food truck is serving up some delicious British bites, and they have a passion for local, sustainable, organic food. God Save the Cuisine sources the best ingredients from local farmers and fisheries. Dave Keylock, co-owner, brings his culinary experience from Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle to San Diego. He started the God Save the Cuisine food truck with his brother and co-owner, Kevin Keylock in 2012. Since then, God Save the Cuisine has grown to a full-service catering company. Check their Facebook page to see where they’ll be next!

Aunty Lynne’s

Aunty Lynne’s has been roaming the streets of America’s Finest City since 2015, feeding and refreshing us with their cool drinks and frozen desserts. You can find a fine variety of fantastic fare at this festive truck: Organic Tropical Smoothies, including Acai, Goji, Mango, Peanut Butter, Matcha, and more. Beautiful Bubble Teas with the freshest flavors, like Taro, Honeydew, Melon, and Thai. Hawaiian-Style Shaved Ice with premium syrups (all high fructose corn syrup-free) complete with a scoop of delightful ice cream.

And if you’re in the mood for food, you’re in luck because this truck also serves a succulent selection of Asian Fusion cuisine, including Teriyaki Beef, Chicken, and Salmon, Korean BBQ, just to name a few.

Joes on the Nose

They have amazing coffee and a great sense of humor, just check out their “great moments in coffee’s history” fun photos.
Their menu is pretty original, you’ll find drinks like: Aloha Latte, Frozen gromlet, the Jorge and the flaming chocolate. “From Orange Organic Coffee Trucks to Beautiful Organic Espresso Bars, from Farmers’ Markets to Corporate Catering to Unicorns, we want to hug each and every one of you. In a non-creepy way, that is.”

Mastiff Sausage

Mastiff Sausage Company’s a food truck specializing in craft sausages with the tagline “Manliness Refined” from a couple of Escondido natives Eric Gallerstein (co-founder and chef) and Jacob Bartlett (co-founder and manager) provide San Diego with food that is made from quality locally-sourced ingredients, affordable, and most importantly, delicious.

Now go get yourself some finger lickin’ good food from one of these trucks around town!
