Weekend Grease Sing-A-Long in a Special Limited Release
Get struck by grease lightning this weekend at Fashion Valley!
The 1978 hit movie Grease returns in a special sing-a-long limited release. You read right! Animated graphics and lyrics grace the screen in this special edition, allowing the audience to sing along to the infectious tunes including Academy Award nominated song “Hopelessly Devoted to You.”
Grease (1978), starring Grammy Award-winning artist Olivia Newton-John alongside Saturday Night Fever heartthrob John Travolta, earned both critical acclaim and box office success, grossing about US$400 million of revenue worldwide. Adapted from the Broadway musical of the same name, the film wowed audiences internationally with a star-studded, attractive cast and a fun, catchy soundtrack.
With the rise in popularity of musical theater-inspired entertainment amongst the younger generations thanks to Disney’s High School Musical franchise and more recently Fox’s hit series Glee, a re-introduction of one of the original song-laden teenage love stories with Grease: Sing-A-Long is sure to draw audiences of all ages donning pink wigs and leather jackets.
Grease: Sing-A-Long features the same classic tale of Sandy Olsson and Danny Zuko as they struggle with love and friendships at Rydell High School with a few new additions. The digitally enhanced sing-a-long edition features the animated lyrics as subtitles partnered with delightful decals reminiscent of many teenage notebook doodles. The sing-a-long format encourages the audience to fully participate in the movie-musical experience. It is a cinematic adventure that enables viewers to live out any dream they may have to break out in song in public.
Get those vocal chords warmed and poodle skirts on to join Sandy, Danny, and the rest of T Birds and Pink Ladies in this movie-musical extravaganza.
Grease: Sing-A-Long will be at Fashion Valley in San Diego this weekend as part of a two-week limited release special engagement. Catch the trailer below:
