New Village Arts Theatre Stages Picasso and Einstein Together
New Village Arts Theatre stages Steve Martin’s – yes, that Steve Martin – consistently entertaining show, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, playing through Dec. 6
In a legendary bar in 1904 Paris, a chance encounter between the young Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso sets sparks and stars flying. What does the world look like to a genius on the verge of transforming it? Their views on sex, fame and the future collide amidst an eccentric constellation of characters.
Steve Martin brilliantly tackles these questions and more in his award-winning comedy, where philosophy and humor are seamlessly woven together in this surreal encounter of two great minds. A show that the New York Daily News calls “consistently entertaining,” Picasso at the Lapin Agile is winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off Broadway Play.
Featuring ensemble members Sandra Ellis-Troy, Kristianne Kurner, Amanda Morrow, Tim Parker and Tom Zohar with Brian Abraham, Kyle Lucy, Greg Wittman and Eddie Yaroch.
