OnStage Playhouse Opens “You Can’t Take It With You”

OnStage Playhouse opens its 2009-2010 season with You Can’t Take It With You. The Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman comedy runs July 10 through Aug. 1. 

Snakes, illegal fireworks, and impulsive wrestling are just a few of the Sycamore family’s eccentric passions in this Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy. The Sycamores happily refuse to conform to the grim realities of the mainstream world, including neglecting to pay income tax for many years. When daughter Alice brings her fiancé and his straightlaced Wall Street banker parents home to dinner, the families clash catastrophically, bringing to life questions of individualism versus conformity, and what constitutes normalcy.
